The first career that interested me was the Marine Biologist. A Marine Biologist is often found studying the vast life of animals and wildlife in the marine environment. They collect and analyze biological data to determine the environmental effects of use of the water or land areas. In order to become a Marine Biologist one is usually required to have a Master's or Bachelor's degree at most. Salary for this field varies but when you hold a Ph. D one can make approximately $40,000 and $80,000 per year. Work hours get as high as 12 to 15 hours per day, 7 days a week. The numbers vary depending on the position you work in at the field. I was fascinated in this career because I absolutely love learning about animals in the ocean and finding new species. I also would like to major in Marine Biology so I am aiming for a career in the field. The second career that fascinated me was the oceanographer. An Oceanographer is a scientist that is found studying the biological and physical aspects of the sea. They research new species, determine the current status of the species and also the water levels. To be able to work as an Oceanographer one must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree but if you desire to be paid more then you are required to have a Ph. D. The amount that you are paid varies on the position you work in. Lastly, I was interested in being a Marine Geoarchaeologist. A Marine Geoachaeologist recovers ancient artifacts found at the bottom of the ocean. The average salary is $57,330-$85,995 and the average working hours varies depending on your working position. To work in this field one must have a Ph. D. This career interests me because I love ancient artifacts and the history behind them. I like learning new information on historical artifacts and would love to find something worth putting in history books.
